SCA courses provide approved CE and CME credits through these accreditation agencies:
American Psychological Association: The Spiritual Competency Academy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Spiritual Competency Academy maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts CE credits for license renewal by LCSWs, MFTs, LPCCs, LMHCs for programs from CE approved sponsors of the American Psychological Association. LCSWs, MFTs, LPCCs, LMHCs from states other than California need to check with their state licensing board for approval.
California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN Provider CEP16887) for licensed nurses in California.
The California Board of Chiropractic Examiners allows continuing education requirements to be met by taking continuing education courses from any California Healing Arts Board-approved provider including those approved by the California BRN.
The California Board of Occupational Therapy allows 12 of the 24 required continuing competency units must be directly related to the delivery of OT services including programs that address occupation-based theory assessment/interview techniques, intervention strategies, and community/environment. Determining the applicability of course material for your personal OT practice is the responsibility of the participant. For more information, see CBOT FAQs.
The National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching may accept programs for CE credit that do not hold NBHWC approval such as those offered by SCA by petitioning. The course must meet all of their requirements. This should be done in advance of the program.
